Communication ? What Is Effective Communication?

Communication, is the word that we all hear a lot nowadays.

Communication means the process of exchanging of information, which can be done by writing, speaking, or by using other medium.
So, it is the sharing of different messages, as by communication, these messages get shared easily.

There are four main types of communication:

First, communication by listening:

Especially the active listening, that considered as one of the most imported type of communication.

Second, visual communication:

We all agreed that we are a visual society, when we think about that we can see that television is turned on all the day, facebook, instagram, videos, photos, and all social media now is a visual communication.

Third type of communication is written communication:

As in emails or reports, for example the medical reports.
Also like the posts people share online on facebook or instagram or twitter or any other application.
However, this type of communication needs very good writing skills, to avoid any confusion or embarrassment.

Fourth type is verbal communication:

which occurs when we involve in speaking or chatting with others, this might happen face to face, may be on the phone, or even by using skype or zoom applications.
This type could be informal like a normal daily chatting with one of your friends while drinking the morning coffee.
While others could be more formal, like the verbal communications that can be done in meetings with the manger, or even when you speak to your doctor.

Fifth type of communication is non-verbal communication:

A non-verbal communication includes posture, facial expressions, hand movements, and eye contact.

 

Finally, we can say that It is really important to be aware of the definition of communication, as this word affects our life aspects daily, and to teach that to our kids, especially school-age children and youth, to help them build healthier relationshipss with their colleagues in school.
